City Tour & The Lion King

Thursday was a practice day between the pool play games and the 3 game series for the GOLD medal. Scott, Melissa, Macy, Jenna, Pauline and I took the bus and train into Hamburg to catch a city tour aboard a double-decker bus. It was HOT again. The average temperatures in July for Hamburg should be 60s to lower 70s. Yesterday it was in the upper 80s again. And remember we don't have air conditioning in our hotel! The city tour was in German, but she tried to mention highlights in English. We got a great overview of the city.

And we're off! A bus then a train gets up where we are going.

The city tour took us around the Alster Lake

One of the many mansions on the lake

Shops and cafes along one of the canals

Town Hall Palace

Street/road signs

Unusual buildings

Lunch at the Alster Pavilion

After practice, Don and I took off for the harbor to eat out and to see The Lion King. It was in German, but we thoroughly enjoyed it!

We had to ferry over to the theater.

When we returned to the hotel - Late night card games....

And roaming the halls.
